Morrinsville Motorama is an annual event hosted by the Yankee Haulers Hot Rod Club, and spans the duration of the weekend, beginning with a Mystery Cruise on Saturday and finishes with the much looked-forward-to Morrinsville Motorama Automotive Show and Swap Meet on Sunday. Motorama first began in 2007 and is now in its 13th year. Over time the event has evolved from around 50 display vehicles in our first year to what the event is today with over 600 cars, 50 trucks and a large number of classic and Harley Davidson bikes, and choppers.
All major and minor car makes and models are encouraged to come out take part in the day, the diversity of vehicles that are represented on the day of the event is what makes Motorama so special. Each year we feature something a little different, so keep an eye out!
There are prizes for the day ranging from Best Truck and Bike to Top 5 Choice. Prize-giving will be done after the Miss Retro Motorama pageant at 1:00PM.
Car Show Groups
There will be a waiting bay for groups to wait for all of their members to arrive, before being driving through to the main staging area. Please arrive as grouped together as possible to prevent a back-up of vehicles in the area.

Entry for Big Rigs and Motorbikes is free.
Truck Convoy Cruise and Show
Before the main show on Sunday the truckies do a Cruise Through Town before entering the grounds at 10:00AM. If you would like to join the convoy and participate in the parade please meet on Sunday 9th February by 9:30AM on Anderson St, Morrinsville facing towards the East, you can have trailers attached. This year the parade is at 10:00AM from this location through Morrinsville Town Centre and enters onto the show grounds via Anzac Ave after the cruise. On-site parking for non-show cars will be available on the day, the cost for parking is $10 and this fee covers parking and entry for all passengers in the vehicle. We strongly advise that visitors use this option for entry to the vehicle, walk-in entry will be $5 per person, so if a family of five decide to walk in off the street the cost for entry will be $30 for everyone rather than $10 if you had used our parking.
Swappers & Traders
To keep things simple, on the day gates are open for swappers and traders from 7:00AM. This is to allow enough time for everyone to get on-site and set up before the event starts at 9:00AM. Please be advised that space will be tight and listen closely to the instructions that are given to you on the day.
There is a fee for hosting a swapper or trade site, it is set at $20 for swappers and $50 for traders.

We always appreciate donations from willing sponsors, items are preferred, over monetary contributions, as these go towards prizes that are handed out during the day. There are different tiers we can offer to you in exchange for your sponsorship, these range from trade sites to brand display along walkways on Sunday and during our drive-in movie.
Proceeds for Charity
The proceeds from the event go towards a charity. We do our best to help others in our community. This year we have chosen Kids in Need Waikato. Kids in Need Waikato helps foster children, with little to no belongings, transition into new homes. Dogs will be allowed into the event at our discretion. We do ask that dogs are kept on a short leash, respect is shown to the vehicles, and that you pick up after them.
Do you have what it takes? Step on up and compete with your fellow 50’s, 60’s and Rock and Roll fashion enthusiasts to become Miss Retro Motorama 2020! Novice and veteran pageant contests are encouraged to join, the more the merrier. Emphasis on no experience necessary!
Our major sponsor of the Miss Retro Motorama pageant is Elizabeth Arden who contribute to the prizes that are awarded on the day. All participants in the Adult Division receive a voucher for a consultation at Farmers for either a skin treatment or a makeover valued at $80.00, that’s an $80 gift just for participating! There will also be a gift for all Junior contestants, this will be confirmed before the event.
In addition to our gift to the contestants as a thank you for participating, we also have great prizes to look forward to for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place.
We run two divisions for the pageant Adults and Juniors. The Junior division is open for all entrants 12 years and younger, and the Adult division is for all entrants 13 and over. The event is gender inclusive, please don’t hesistate to register for the event.
